Why is "Lithium battery" labeled on the package instead of "LiFePO4"?
Li-ion batteries include various types, such as LiMn2O4, LiCoO2, and LiFePO4. LiCoO2 and ternary lithium batteries have shorter lifespans compared to LiFePO4. Customs requires products to be labeled according to their classification, and both types are considered lithium-ion batteries. You can verify the use of LiFePO4 batteries by checking the packaging and specification label.
Mega FAQ
Product Introduction
Troubleshooting
How quickly can the Mega be fully charged after it is completely discharged?
The charging time depends on the battery capacity and the charging speed of your power station. We use the following formula to estimate the charging time:
Estimated Charging Time = (Battery Capacity / Charging Speed) * 0.85
Please note that this is only an estimate.
For example, to charge a Mega 5 with AC power (maximum charging speed of 1800W and capacity of 5040Wh):
Estimated Charging Time = (5040 / 1800) * 0.85 ≈ 2.4 hours.
Does the Mega series connect the ground to the neutral?
No, none of the Mega series products use this setting.
Can I charge using a "briefcase" style solar panel with its own charge controller?
Yes, you can use a "briefcase" style solar panel with its own charge controller, provided that the current output from the controller is lower than 15A.
Can this be used sideways or placed at an angle?
Sideways placement is not recommended for the Mega series.
Can I connect to a started electric car to charge this portable battery?
Mega series products do not support this usage.
Does the battery backup have MPPT for solar charging?
The B2 backup battery has MPPT for solar charging, while the B5 backup batteries do not include MPPT (Maximum Power Point Tracking).
What is the length of your current 240W solar panel cable? I want to place the main unit in my house and charge the solar panel in my yard. Do you have a suitable extension cable?
The length of the solar panel is 16.4 ft.
If you want to extend them, you can choose MC4 extension cables.
One pair can extend 20 feet, 2 pairs can extend 40 feet, and so on.

Can I connect solar power to the main unit and backup battery at the same time?
Yes, this function is supported for Mega 2, Mega 3, and B2 batteries. However, it is not available for B5 batteries because they do not include MPPT.
Is there a way to keep the display on?
No, the display will automatically turn off to conserve power.
When a battery or LiFePO4 battery is installed in a Mega, does the system automatically shut down, or should the cable be unplugged?
You need to shut down the device before adding or merging batteries.
What happens if a solar array connected to the Mega exceeds the rated 15-amp input, while the VOC remains below 150 volts?
Nothing will happen; the system will automatically limit the charging current.
Can I charge the Mega faster in the car using a DC-DC charger?
Yes, you can, but the output current of the DC-DC charger must be lower than 15A.
If I have a B2 extra battery and a Mega 2 hooked up to each other, can I then plug solar panels into both the battery input and the head unit input at the same time?
Yes, you can connect solar panels to both the battery input and the main unit input simultaneously.
When my main unit runs out of power, but the battery pack still has enough power, can I use the battery pack to charge the main unit?
Yes, you can use the battery pack to charge the main unit. When connected, power will flow from the battery pack (the higher side) to the main unit (the lower side). As the battery pack discharges and the main unit charges, the power levels will eventually balance, at which point the battery pack will stop charging the main unit.
When the Mega series is plugged into the wall for charging, it sometimes displays no current input. What might be the cause?
The Mega series has a high charging input power, which may occasionally cause the circuit to trip, resulting in the product not responding. This does not indicate a defect in the product. The usual solution is to check the main circuit breaker after a trip and then switch it back from "off" to "on."
Can I stack the products together to save space?
Due to the weight of the products, we recommend against stacking them. If you choose to stack them, do not stack more than five units. Additionally, please note that the Mega 2 and Mega 3 can each connect to up to six spare batteries, while the Mega 5 can connect to up to eight spare batteries.
Can I use the charger from the Mega 3 power station to charge the B2 battery?
The B2 battery does not have an external charger, it can be charged directly from the Mega 3 or solar panel
How does the EPS (Emergency Power Supply) function? Does the Mega need to be charged to 100% capacity before it automatically shuts off, allowing power to flow directly to the freezer, and then take over when the main power goes out?
The Mega does not need to be fully charged to activate the EPS function. When the Mega is connected to a wall socket for charging and the freezer is connected to the Mega with the AC output turned on, the system will automatically switch to the Mega's power supply if the wall socket loses power.
Can I charge the Mega with a Level 1 electric vehicle charger?
Currently, only Mega 5 can do.
What are the recommendations for charging/discharging when using the Mega series for the first time?
For the Mega series, we recommend charging the unit until the fan icon on the screen stops spinning. This ensures the battery is fully charged before first use.
Why does this device show reverse polarity when plugged into AC power to charge? Does this affect pass-through charging and the UPS?
The device showing reverse polarity when plugged into AC power may indicate issues with the outlet, plug wiring, or internal circuitry. This can disrupt pass-through charging and UPS functionality, leading to malfunctions.
Address this issue immediately by checking the outlet or using a different one. If it persists, consult a qualified electrician or the manufacturer.
Do not use the device with reverse polarity, as it poses safety hazards and could cause damage. Verify your wiring method.

Solar Panel FAQ
Product Introduction
Troubleshooting
Can I use third party solar panel?
Most solar panels on the market are compatible, but you should check that the specifications and plug match (within 150V, and the connection port is Anderson). Feel free to contact us via email before making connections.
We recommend connecting OUPES solar panels with OUPES solar generators, as they include optimized solutions. While third-party solar panels may work, different companies' solutions can conflict, potentially reducing charging efficiency.
The MPPT current limit is 15A. How much can it exceed at most, and is it safe?
The input power will not exceed 15A, which is safe
Is the solar panel waterproof? Can I use an extension cable?
Our solar panels have waterproof treatment, but we do not recommend using them in the rain. Portable solar panels cannot be fully waterproofed like hard solar panels, and long-term exposure to rain may reduce cell efficiency.
The length of the solar charging cable is 16 feet, and we also offer extensions on our website. Please note that charging efficiency may decrease with longer cables, potentially requiring more time to fully charge.
Why do solar panels charge so slowly?
Here are some ways to potentially speed up the charging of your solar panels
1.90 degree postion facing the sunlight
2.all the solar panel face to the sunlight towards the same direction
3.we recommend our customers to charge the OUPES generator with the OUPES solar panels.
It will achieve the maximum power input.
4.no obstruction, even a leaf may affect the charging efficiency
5.maybe the solar panel is aging so the working efficiency is low
Could you please advise whether I need any fuses or protective devices between my solar panels and these devices?
Not required, there is a built-in fuse box inside the product
Will the solar panel work normally in winter?
Solar generators are generally not affected by wind and snow, but heavy snow can cover the panels and reduce effectiveness. Our solar panels have over 20% efficiency and can operate in winter, though power output may be lower due to less sunlight. They function within a temperature range of 14°F to 158°F.
In each solar panel box, there are four plastic clips. I did not see them mentioned in any documents. What is their purpose? Do you have any photos showing their use?
The plastic clips you received are called foot guards. They are designed to elevate the solar panel slightly off the ground, preventing direct contact and potential abrasion.
Why can the power station be turned on but cannot perform PV charging when the PV is plugged in overnight until the next morning? Why must the power station be manually reset and the solar input be disconnected before charging again
The PV system begins charging at dawn; however, the voltage during this time can be unstable. This instability may cause issues with the initialization of the microcontroller unit (MCU) that manages the Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT). It can also affect the inverter switch, which may continue to output power even after being turned off.
For optimal performance, we do not recommend plugging the solar panel in overnight. If you avoid these incorrect practices and still experience issues with PV charging, please provide us with the specific parameters of your PV panel and the connection method (including the number of strings and how many are in parallel). This information will help us diagnose the problem more effectively.
