No. The LFP121 12V 108Ah LiFePO4 lithium battery does not featured low-temperature charging protection, so it should only be charged when the battery's temperature is above 32°F (0°C). Charging in freezing temperatures will damage the cells. In cold conditions, the best practice is to bring the battery indoors to charge.

To maximize service life and performance, store your LFP121 batteries under the following conditions:

• State of charge (SOC): Store at around 50%. Avoid long-term storage at 100% or 0%.
• Maintenance charging: For extended storage, recharge back to ~50% at least once every 3 months to prevent over-discharge and help maintain cell balance.
• Storage environment: Keep the battery in a dry, well-ventilated place between 50°F and 95°F (10°C to 35°C), with 45%–75% relative humidity.
• Physical protection: Using a dedicated battery box/case is strongly recommended to protect against impact, dust, and moisture.

Best practices for storage over 3 months

• Disconnect completely from all loads and charging sources to avoid slow parasitic drain.
• Avoid extreme temperatures, especially high heat, which can accelerate aging and reduce capacity.
• After long storage, it’s a good practice to run one full charge/discharge cycle before returning the battery to regular use.

⚠️Important connection requirements

To protect safety, performance, and battery life, make sure all batteries in the bank are:

• Same model/specs: Same capacity (Ah) and BMS rating (A)
• Same brand: Don’t mix brands—BMS behavior and protection logic can differ
• Recent Purchase: Ideally within about a month for better consistency
• Voltage matched: Fully charge first and ensure battery voltages are within 0.1V of each other to avoid damaging inrush current

There are 3 ways to charge.

1. Using Solar Panels + Solar Charge Controller

The battery can be fully charged in one day (with effective sunshine 4.5 hrs/day) by 400W solar panels. It may take more than one day to fully charge the battery by ≥400W solar panels since the duration and intensity of light would be a great factor for their charging efficiency.

2. Generator/Alternator

If the alternator or generator supports DC output, a DC-to-DC charger is needed to connect the battery to the generator; if your alternator or generator supports AC output, please add a suitable battery charger to connect the battery and the generator according to our recommendations. The Recommended Charging Voltage: 14.2V - 14.6V. The Recommended Charging Current: ① 20A (0.2C): the battery will be fully charged in around 5 hrs to 100% capacity; ② 50A (0.5C): the battery will be fully charged in around 2hrs to 100% capacity.

3. LiFePO4 Chargers
The Recommended Charging Voltage: 14.2V - 14.6V. he Recommended Charging Current: ① 20A (0.2C): the battery will be fully charged in around 5 hrs to 100% capacity; ② 50A (0.5C): the battery will be fully charged in around 2 hrs to around 97% capacity.

The OUPES LFP121 does not support app monitoring.

To check the remaining SOC, measure the battery terminal voltage with a multimeter and refer to the SOC voltage table.
