Setting up mom's oxygen machine in case of a power outage!! 600 watts so l need some extra pop!
Just returned home from a week long getaway to Punta Cana with the Grandkids (Oupes was there also 🙂, while we were away, once again my "Watchdogs", the Mega 5/B5 "pass through powered" the fridges while my Exo-1500 "pass through powered" my security Alarm/cam system and the Exo 1200 "pass through powered" the router. Its great to be able to go away and not have to worry about construction blackouts, (The city of pembroke pines is converting all of our septic tanks to sewer, lost power 2x already this summer)....also did the "penny on a frozen cup of water trick, penny was still on top" so no power loss.
System runs all plug in appliances in living room
My Oupes powered homemade truck camper. My wife and I slept comfortably for 3 nights this weekend with 5000 btu's of ac thanks to my Mega 2 and two solar panels. It also ran a dual-zone 12v fridge/freezer the entire time, charged our phones, and ran other assorted things. I already have more solar planned because the Mega 2 will basically take anything you can throw at it.
I just want to say how happy I have been with my Oupes products. All have been working well for me. Before coming across Oupes, I purchased several products from another manufacturer that shall remain nameless. Those products ran through the gamut of bad inverters, bad fans, etc. I've never had those issues with Oupes. The products that I have just work.Exodus 2400 - I use this one for longer camping trips and outages.Exodus 1200/1500 - These have worked great for weekend outings and day trips. I also use these for mobile applications and tools around the house.Exodus 600 Plus - This one backs up the bedroom TV and associated devices.Exodus 600 - I use this to back up my internet connection in the garage. It has worked great so far.Mega 1 - This one backs up my refrigerator and a stand up freezer on a daily basis. All of these power stations have performed very well for me and are also available for outages from storms and other reasons such as construction. They have all done whatever I have asked of them.
Have been running an experiment for the past week - powering my Vevor 55L dual zone refrigerator from my Oupes 1500 plus charging with 400W panels. Have had to use grid to charge only once due to clouds. Impressed with how seamlessly everything works. The 1500 Will power the fridge for nearly 2 days without intervention, outside in 90 degree + FL heat. I’ve had absolutely no issues with the 1500, and am in awe of its performance Recently installed an interlock switch to my electric panel and will experiment with my Mega 5, and hopefully will be able to purchase a B5 expansion battery (or two) soon. I’ve got an 11lk watt gas generator for the hurricane season, allowing me to use my central air during the day, but due to the noise, I’d prefer to use my Oupes to power AC at night. I’ll get by with a small air-conditioning unit for now, but anxiously awaiting the 240 V product from Oupes.
Within the last week or so the summer temperatures have gotten as high as 114 degrees in my area .I've been running a Mega-2 and a Mega-1 every day during the sunlight hours for about a month now. I use the "Pass-Through" feature on both of these solar generators to run a cooling fan and a small portable Evaporative cooler .That "Pass-Through" feature makes it seem like I'm plugging my cooling fans directly into the sun .I hope it's ok to use these Oupes solar generators like this for prolonged periods of time. I'd hate for this kind of usage to shorten the life spans of these two little solar generators .I wish I could afford one of the bigger Megas. I'd be able to use it to power my full-sized evaporative cooler all day long so that I only had to use grid power at night. We generally have low humidity, so an Evap-Cooler keeps my indoor temperatures pretty cool. Having one of the Mega-5s or even the Mega-3s would cut my summer utility bill nearly in half. Here in Arizona during the dogdays of summer, it can still be 100 degrees at midnight when the sun isn't even shining. Such is life in the Arizona desert.
Oupes Exodus 2400 VS Kawasaki 1400. 20 years ago I Purchased this Kawasaki generator and it has never given me any problems, but it also has not been used since I discovered Oupes power stations. The Kawasaki weighs 70 pounds with its 2 gallon gas tank, maximum output of 1400 W of AC and 120 watts of 12v DC. will run a 5000 BTU air conditioner for 4 hours on a tank of gas. Runs constantly regardless of power draw, The obnoxious noise and the smell of the exhaust is a bonus 🤢🤮. $8 for two gallons of gas, VS The Exodus @ 2232 watts capacity max draw at 2600 watts 45 lbs cost to recharge .24-.80 cents. will run nearly silent and uses VERY little power when ac has reached temperature. Minute for minute, they both will power the AC for 4 hours, but because the exodus will be using very little power when it cycles off, it’ll probably be closer to 6 hours of runtime. No fuel and air filter, oil, spark plug, just peaceful to use ❤️ Why would you use anything else !
Ran fine all day and went 10 and 1/2 hours. Of course this was in perfect air conditioned conditions. If the power was out and the temperature inside was a lot hotter I would expect the fan in the Oupes to run a lot more and it draws quite a bit of power when it runs. I'll return it to its standby spot plugged in to an outlet and a constantly running air cleaner to charge during cheaper nighttime rates. It meets my current needs for short term backup power. And it met my price range.
It has been a pleasure testing and using the Exodus 2400 over the last month. During that time I used it to: Cook a meal in my Ninja Foodi air fryer Used it to power my portable Ice maker Powered my DC cooler/bluetooth speaker Powered my 21 cubic refrigerator. Ran a 500 watt portable heater. Most of my testing was based on real world use cases. The solar charging worked well with my 3 200 Watt fixed solar panels in series for a max of 66 VOC to the MPPT. The fast charge from grid power was faster than stated. Please feel free to watch the videos I posted to this group over the past month. I will continue to comment and post to the group highlighting the Exodus 2400 and all of the other OUPES products that I own.In summary I highly recommend the OUPES Exodus 2400 to anyone needing a reliable and cost effective power station. In addition the up to 6 years of warranty gives you assurance that there will be no power opps with OUPES.
I just want to say that after more than a month with the Exodus 2400, I've been really happy with it so far. It can run everything in my garage. The increased solar input capacity has been welcome. Fast charging has been just that, fast when needed. The unit has been very efficient the watt loads that I've been using it. The dual handle design makes it easier to carry and feel lighter than I was expecting. I had one blip early on when testing at a sustained 2400 watts from 100% down to 0% where thermal protection kicked in after fully draining it. Once everything cooled down, everything was fine. It did what it's supposed to do. It is also important to fully drain and recharge the power station upon first receiving it to make sure that it's properly calibrated. All in all, I call the Exodus 2400 a definite win for me. I'm very confident in this unit going into hurricane season in Florida.
